For almost 40 years, Legacy Community Health has led the charge in providing high-quality, affordable health care in Houston.

From a small one-story clinic serving gay men in the 1980s, Legacy has grown into what Mayor Sylvester Turner calls a "powerhouse medical institution" serving anyone who walks through our doors. With more than 30 clinics, our health centers provide adult primary care, OB/GYN, pediatrics, behavioral health, HIV specialty care, dental and vision, to over 150,000 community members across Southeast Texas.

As the largest Federally Qualified Health Center in the region, our services and programs are open to all, regardless of the ability to pay. Like the other 4,000 FQHCs in the U.S., Legacy helps keep patients out of costly emergency rooms for non-emergencies. That saves the U.S. health care system $24 billion per year. Such fiscal stewardship and quality of care has earned FQHCs bipartisan support in Texas and in the nation's capital.
